The durability of the manifold's epoxied tube joints will interest others here.

How did you resolve the starting speed control (choke) placement. Did you fabricate an automatic device, relocate the original control, or do you simply manipulate the throttle during warmup?

I didn't bother with it haven't felt the need to do something about it either. I have a slightly elevated idle though - around 1050 rpm - because of some adjustment issue with the custom throttle that I haven't bothered to address.

Do your mirrors clear the gas tank at full lock?  I couldn't get mine to not hit the tank when mounted under the grips and had to go over, but my clip ons aren't as low as yours.

I have the same headlight.. love it and found this:

Not too bad for a full bolt-in Xenon projector/HID upgrade!  Will be next season for me... I have a white/black themed bike and this eliminates a bunch of the chrome in the back housing of the headlamp - might fit your build too.

Oooh. That's awesome. I will definitively consider this for next season.

Damn that thing is amazing... This is my benchmark build for this bike. Have you considered doing the paralever conversion to ditch the spline issue? That's big on my list too, but hella costly...

What did you do with the expansion tank?  Waterless coolant?  Was curious how that's converted.

Thanks! No, I don’t have any plans on rebuilding this one. I’d rather build another. Right now I’m busy with a Harley, but I’m considering building some kind of scrambler out of a K75 next winter.

I plugged the hole at the filling cap, ditched the tank and filled with Evans waterless coolant. Simple as that. Works great.

Awesome. Just so you know, if you put all of your project materials and steps and such into a detailed guide, I would so pay for an ebook of that if it was comprehensive and all that!

Genius! Glad I saw this post, this is exactly why I DONATE TO THE UP-KEEP OF THE MOTOBRICK.COM FORUM to keep this shared knowledge alive.

I've been researching this topic myself the last few evenings trying to decide on the right bottle size, how/where to mount it and whether to install a spigot or run the hose in the filler with a slotted gromit to the bottom etc etc.

I've just checked out the Evans Waterless coolant, It's a little pricey but I reckon in the long run its the cheaper alternative, shame I've already got my distilled water and coolant on the garage shelf waiting. Did you bother to run the Prep Fluid first or just go straight in with the waterless, Boxerman?

What did you use to plug the hole, just a NPT plug?

Cheers

Yeah, I did that too before finding out about waterless coolants. Bought several canisters, coolant, made a bracket, etc...

No, I didn't bother with Prep Pluid. Just flushed it thoroughly and let it dry.

A rubber cap held in place with a hose clamp.

How do you check/are sure of your level now? Did you do many checks and top-ups during the first road tests post build?
It's obviously quite a task to gain access to the fill cap unless you have fuel line quick disconnects for the tank removal.
