I rode in the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride in San Jose COsta Rica today and saw two other Bricks, one standard bike and a cafe racer.

Here are pics

My wife and I ready to ride feeling very distinguished...

The first brick captured on my GoPro I think it is a K100 standard but am not sure I never saw it again

The cafe racer, a 87 K100 I was told

Me and Ilsa are doing a little skeedaddle out west for a couple weeks.  So far it's been the trip from hell, and hell has frozen over.  The past two days I've covered about 1300 miles in temperatures that never got above 40 degrees.  Today it never got above 36 and when I checked into the hotel in Swift Current, Saskatchewan it was feckin' snowing.

Earlier in the day I passed through Miami.  The weather was nice and sunny and 33 degrees.  Miami, Manitoba that is.   A few miles up the road I passed a field where two crows were harassing a bald eagle.  I stopped, but before I could get my camera out the crows took off, leaving the eagle who hung around long enough to get a photo.

A few more miles down the road I stopped at a reservation gas station where I was greeted by a very friendly dog that had to be part Siberian Husky.  He had blue eyes and the characteristic curled tail, but his face sure wasn't that of a husky, and neither were the ears.

Weather forecast is for up to 12 inches of snow in Banff tomorrow and Tuesday, so now I have to make plans to head back to the States and find some other way to get to the West Coast of Washington and Oregon.

I also rode in the local DGR yesterday, in the mist and rain in Madison, WI.  Only about fifteen of us showed up...  I wasn't wet or miserable like some of the other riders, that RT fairing works great in the cold and rain!

Only one other K bike, a 1600.  He was pretty dry too!

Nice action pic one of the other riders captured.

A bit of rain on the helmet, but still looking distinguished. (so my wife says anyway...)

Good on you! Love the pics. Would have loved doing this, but had other obligations. And then, there was the rain thing...

Wow, your K75 sounds amazing.  Makes me want to hang a gopro off my K100RS and see how she sounds.

Fun bikes, that track looks awesome.  I'm headed to Barber tomorrow, maybe I can get mine up on a track day there someday...

Cheers

the K75 is stock, with stock muffler.  that is the sound they all make when rev'd into the range they are most happy in! 6k-8k rpm.

Rode my K100RS16v to the Barber Vintage Motorcycle Festival, man was it hot, but such a fun ride.

233 miles door to track to door.  Bonus - the K100 is now running great, the 'Italian Tuneup' I did on her running it fast for 4 hours on interstate and twisty backroads has cleaned her out and she now sounds like a well oiled machine!  So much better than before!

A few pics...

columbus day.....200+ miles on back roads hitting three States northwest of Washington, DC along Potomac and Shennandoah rivers...including 200 yards of "underway" time crossing the Potomac on a ferry...

interesting that we saw two other bikes at the ferry crossing...a Harley and a BMW GS.  the Harley rider was a very friendly and interested in the K's.  the GS rider didn't even look at us...

Apparently they do four a year at that track - the only one here more or less  - so I suspect I will be doing them all!

It was a really nice day for riding in Southern Ontario today (Sunday Oct 14), so I took a quick spin on some small roads north of Toronto.  Beautiful fall colours and gorgeous temperatures in the upper-teens.  Hmmmm....

Last Wednesday morning I thought I'd leave Ft. Collins, Colorado for home.  Was a pleasantly overcast day day just right for blasting down the Interstate at 85 in temperatures in the low 30's.

About 30 miles out the boredom was relieved by the sight of 2 inches of snow as far as the eye could see.  Stopped for gas in Arriba, Colorado, or was that Kansas?
