Charging a CPAP battery while riding
« on: July 21, 2011, 04:35:43 PM »
Ok, now wiring a system so that I can use my CPAP (sleep apnea machine) while camping w/o AC power.

First, the special batteries for this machine will not accept a charge via DC power according to the company that makes them.

Below you see AC/DC power inverter, the battery pack w/ DC female coupling, and the AC wall plug to DC male plug.

The power for the whole thing is pulled thru the Blue Sea fuse block.

All tucked in.

Due to the power draw and risk of it running and me forgetting that, Steve wired in an external switch here. (note the fob for the dimmer below)

I wired in a LED dimmer.

Low.

Medium.

High.

That way if the charger is running I can tell by the LED.
And the dimmer makes it good for day or night.
