hello, newbie here
« on: June 27, 2011, 06:41:32 PM »
hi,

just wanted to say hi to everybody.

  i just bought a 94 k75 with 10,500 miles on her.

  it looks really clean.

i was told it had the 12000 mile service done about 9 months ago, but has not been ridden much since then.

i did change the oil, trans fluid, drive oil, and the plugs..  any advice on other things to do? ???

Run it on dino motor oil until 20k in order to let the rings seat properly.

Ride it a whole bunch.  With only 10k on it it's got some catchin' up to do....
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

Did I f*** up?
Rode about 1000 miles with the new oil, everything seems ok...I hope.  ::)

Well, the engine is designed to break in on dino oil.  If it were me I'd run it on Castrol GTX 20/50 for the first 20k.

Probably not the end of the world to run it on Amsoil though.

It's up to you.

Hi, Jimmyk,
Check the breather hose.  Mine regularly crack after a couple or three years.  They're not that expensive and are easy to change.
