Greetings all...

Thanks for letting me camp and be a part of this community. The name is Mike, Im in SW Michigan and am on my second K bike. I got bit a few years ago on a "flipper" K1100LT and have been pining for another one since. I recently found a very nice 85 K100RS (from what I hear - the best year?!?) that has become my newest friend and hope to enjoy it for awhile. This is my third BMW as I had an R1150GS in between. Say "hey" if you're ever in these parts  - I look forward to meeting anyone who is in the vicinity.

Best!

Mike

Greetings......I am also very new here. I don't even have a bike yet. So your steps ahead of me. Being an avid reader here, I do know somewhere in the vin # is the number combo for the early ones w/ the "hotter cam". If I don't have that right, I sure the right info will appear below my post.WELCOME from Colorado. That is a nice bike. So who cleaned it ? Somebody liked their ride...

greetings wario, i too am a nube to this site, great discovery as i find it both entertaining and enlightening.
attached is pic of my 85K, which may be a month or two older than yours, check out the difference in foot peg assembly. mine has a bent steel rod to prevent left foot from being eaten by rear tire while yours has a bracket integral to the casting. i've got 200K on mine, hope you have similar good fortune.
