Handlebar Risers and Clutch Cables
« on: May 14, 2014, 12:12:41 PM »
I've got a question for you guys....maybe someone here has run into this and can save me a headache.

I have a 1991 K100RS that needs a new clutch cable. I also have handlebar risers on the bike.
My question is; If I have handlebar risers, should I be getting longer clutch cable (for K100LT) or stick with K100RS clutch cables?

RS clutch cables part#32732324955 - 1510mm
LT clutch cables part#32732324960 - 1625mm

I could pull the existing clutch cable and measure it, which answers my question, but I find it is a lot easier to replace clutch cables while the old one is still installed (just feeding the new one up through the same path as the old one).

Thoughts?

Looks like LT bowden cable is needed for RS with risers according to Max's BMW.

I'll post back results... just for fun

Fitted risers from the USA to my K75s here in UK all cables and loom worked fine with no issues, I think you should be okay with standard size but best to measure first I guess.
Don't wait now is the time, enjoy.
