Santa Fe, NM ~ Chris' Cafe
« on: April 29, 2013, 09:46:25 PM »
OK. Santa Fe. Green chili land. Also home to much pretentious posturing and overinflated, self-important cuisine.  But I found the cure. Chris' Cafe. A little place that opened in a strip mall on Cerrillos far from the downtown scene. Breakfast and lunch. And Burgers are 90% of what are served for lunch. I had breakfast one day and loved it. Came back for lunch. Fell in love. This may be the best burger I have ever had. Simple, clean, cooked to perfection. Free range organic beef. Local green. Local cheddar. And jalapeno bacon. I should have gotten another on for breakfast on my way out of town. The joint opened just a year ago, and unless I miss my guess, will have lines out the door within a few months. The fare is just that good. So if you're in Santa Fe, stop by before the place grows too big for it's britches. Great friendly staff and owner/chef. Their only link is a FB page, but can also be found on Trip Adviser etc. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Chris-Cafe/107413019384217?rf=226282750802557

Did I mention this is probably the best burger I have ever eaten? Completely made the food scene part of my recent Santa Fake trip...  5/5 :mbird :mbird :mbird :mbird :mbird
n00bs: "We all do that."
