Mystic Red made me feel guilty

 :-[

Hi Ducky, I would be remiss if I did offer what I can to help you build this site.

You are my friend and K-Hero :bow

So hi yaw'll, I'm Gwen and I have two K1100R's; 1993 aka The Shop Whore and 1994 aka Blue Streak.

I ride a little and wrench a little.

"Wrench a little?"

Bah, you put most male K bike owners to shame.
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

Johnny, you can back on it!!!

Dear, I STAY over my head but I have good support (or at least a people that will laugh at me when I throw my bike on it's side ;D), so if it has been done; it can be done.  :)

I love it when little well placed guilt works. I see you posting hard in this forum when you go on cookabout.
Something decadent please.

Gwen the Wrenching Wench... How you making out? Haven't heard from you since March. Any progress on the web site front?

When last I saw you in our Mars March Maintenance Madness I had just gotten Ocelot the K75C on the road after 10 years parked. You remember she was parked on the sidewalk to make room fro the crowd. Now she runs like the wind, and is my very favorite daily commuter in the fleet. Talked another attendee at that event into picking up a K75RT here recently. Dunno if you remember him: Rogers George. Just recently joined this forum. He was on a R100RT with linex coated fairing. I had just replaced the clutch for him last Winter. Couple weeks ago, his RT popped the headd off off a valve, batted the little disc round inside the cylinder, which dug a hole in his piston and chewed his head all to crap, then frisbeed the valve head out the exhaust port, and rode another 25 miles home on one cylinder. Those old airheads were absolutely amazing for their robustness. Can you imagine calmly running 25 miles home on one jug with a hole in the other piston? Unbelievable. Oddest of all: the bore appears untouched by all that mayhem.

Anyhoo... Thanks for riding up from VA. Chat me up some time.

Whoot!!

I'm so glad you got her running!!!
Very nice.

Hi Davis.

Things went sideways shortly after that trip to see you and the group and escalated through last month.

See here. >>> http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=682228

Things are better now.

I have been able to create a logo.

At this moment I struggling to nail Jell-O to the wall.

I have 4 weeks to finish prepping the blue K1100RS for a cross country blitz. Roughly I'll depart Culpeper on the 7/29 for a one day ride to Jacksonville, FL.
There I'll rest for 24 hours then haul ass to San Diego to complete an Iron Butt 50CC. (squeeze in another BBG)

I crashed in 2007 at 70 mph while attempting this ride, breaking my back in two places, 6 other bones and lost 9 nine day to a concussion.
I still have no memory of that spendy chopper ride.

Now I mentally and physically ready to try again.

After SD I ride to Puget Sound via NV to spend a weekend with other Classic K riders. From there to Denver to pre-ride a 1000 miles of dirt in preparation of attempting a Dusty Butt 1000 in 2012.

Then it's down to Dallas for a memorial party and ride for a friend and fellow rider who died of cancer this year.

Then haul ass home the long way to try for a third BBG (1500 miles in 24 hours)

So far I've done all the standard maintenance and wired a special LED light over the tank bag. I just got all the stuff I need to wire a charging system so that I can charge a set of special batteries to run my CPAP when I don't have access to AC.

I'm still waiting on a quick disconnect to finish building an evaporative cooling system. It will employ a camelbak, silicone tubing, check valves, and a tee shirt.
I'll need that crossing TX in August.

I'm waiting on an order of Permatex adhesive to apply radiant heat shield cloth under the fuel tank and saddle.

I just ordered tires that I need to mount before leaving as well

There's more but mostly small nit-picking stuff.

I'm also prepping for a track day at VIR on 6/6 & 6/7 with my husband.

Oh, and to throw gasoline on the fire, a good friend of mine called yesterday saying his K100 just shit it's tranny and he needed my help and my lift to replace it.

So that’s it in a nut shell.
I still plan to go forward with the forum idea, other things just got in the way.
When I get back, I’m re-commiting to the project.

Ok, I have to sleep,I’ve been up a LONG time and have to work again tonight.

-Gwen
