K Bike Dash Switches & Graphic Inserts
« on: February 18, 2013, 09:06:58 PM »
In Frankenduck's Switch Rehabilitation Clinic I show you how to take a switch apart and remove the graphic insert.  These can be replaced to make your switch(es) look like new again. They cost a little over $4 each and there are more available than most people are aware of.

Attached to this post is a PDF table with part numbers of the switches and inserts available from BMW. (Note that some of them need to come from The Fatherland and can take a few weeks to get here.)
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

Has anyone figured out what style mount these switches have?

I don't want to spend $50 on a switch if there is a standard alternative.

Seems like it would be quite fun to replace the graphic insert with some of your own design....

I bought a bunch of used ones, and might try that.  Gotta rehab 'em anyway as they aren't sliding very smoothly.   the asterik and plus/minus are a mystery to me as to their original purpose.  I think the handgrips are going to become my fog light control and the flasher, I'll just use as a flasher.

Yes, the BMW rocker switches are standard automotive rockers in Contura style available from Carling Technologies.  Here are some URLs with further information:
