Was put into storage in 1992 by Amol Precision( with a detailed work order), a NJ BMW dealer from back in the day before dealerships became boutiques...

'90 barn find K75S...with 841 miles on the clock.  :yow  Required some convincing to come back to life after nearly 28 years in storage, but it's a runner.

I am having problems with overheating, despite replacing radiator and reservoir caps, o-ring, thermostat and coolant.  Fan works great, but the light still comes on.

Nice photos of a good looking ride! Not enough coolant in the system. The radiator was probably filled too rapidly, the engine not allowed to run and warm up while more coolant was added, at least that's kind of how I phrased in it your other thread. :giggles

Appreciate the quick reply, but I doubt that was the problem. It was installed by a BMW certified mechanic.

Take a good look in the reservoir and the filler for any signs of mineral buildup.  They should be spotless.  Despite the low miles, it is still possible that there are mineral deposits in the cooling system.

These bikes have somewhat marginal cooling capacity and need everything working at peak efficiency to avoid overheating in the Texas heat.  Slow traffic with a lot of idling on hot days made my K100RS puke coolant until I did a good flush and a radiator fin cleaning.

Dealer techs are no longer familiar with the early K bikes so I wouldn't be really positive that they know how to burp the hoses to get every bit of coolant the system requires.

Thanks for the tip. It turns out, the coolant was changed twice since I got it. I first changed all the fluids before it was started. After a few hundred miles, the water pump was dripping out the weep hole so I did a seal replacement and fresh distilled water and antifreeze. The system was very clean. :bmwsmile

Its been a couple months and my hen seems to have finally calmed down so I can declare this bike mine. She really hammered me to sell it off.

K75 #1 did a wobbly slide out a year ago and is now disappearing piece by piece through this site.

1994 K75S just got new tires and these pics.  Love my bricks.

Fantastic resurrection of the '94, well done, looks great and I guess it's running as nicely too. Just in time as the weather cools off a little.

Just realized I never put a picture of my $1750 Ebay special on here...  3 years later, and still loving her.  Need to do some more maintenance items, but mostly just having too much fun riding!

About to take her to the Barber Vintage Motorcycle Festival in 2 weeks.  Anyone else on here going?

Almost 114k miles on her now!

As requested, some pictures of my '90 K75s.  I bought it 11/2011 with 48k miles on it, currently showing 72k on the odometer.  It's been mostly reliable until now, leading to my first post on motobrick.  Thanks to all who have offered advice.  It's been a few places.

Recently purchase from the Californian owner, stored in Munich and I have not seen it in person.
I hope to ride it around France next spring or fall.

Nice bike! If you ever feel like renting it I am going to Europe this summer to see my best friend in Germany, my Dad in Belgium and my sister in France and almost fainted when I saw the price of renting bikes over there...
