Gotta add another "THANK YOU" from a new K100RS owner. Just brought home a 1985, seems it needs a starter, and then I'll have it back on the road !

Does anyone have the procedure to rebuild the front master brake cylinder for a non abs K75s. The repair manual show a illustration of the front master brake cylinder but no procedure for the rebuild.

There is a photo-essay on the procedure under the category Brakes in the Repair Guidance section.

I actually have the Clymer and the Haynes, lol.
Which do you prefer, Clymer or Haynes? I have the Haynes and was debating purchasing the Clymer too.

I wish the images in the official BMW manual were clearer. Is the print version of the official BMW manual better in that regard?

It is essential for me to have at least two manuals from different publishers. The Clymer is well-organized and detailed but sometimes the writers in the Haynes manual will have instructions that I can comprehend better. The reverse is also true. Compare the two manual sections on reassembling timing chains.

Halftone photos in print will usually be more clear than those that have been scanned for online use.

This is usually an indication of amateur scanning, or inadequate software ... or both.  :nono

I'm not sure when the BMW manual was scanned but I'm guessing it was many years ago. It's not a very good scanning job but the pages are straight. I'm not meaning to disparage the freebie from the mothership, just sharing my thoughts. I reprinted some of the pages on our color printer at work, using grayscale, and they came out much better than our B/W printer. I'd still like more detail but unless I can buy a print copy of said manual.  :dunno

I bought what I thought was a printed copy of the manual on eBay before I found the pdf and I swear they printed it using microfiche because the dark and light all seem reversed. It's the worst $25 I've ever spent. lol

Your thoughts are disparaging though, woodgeek. Give them a spanking. :giggles
