Sticking throttle
« on: May 04, 2020, 04:13:56 PM »
After I've been cruising down the road for a while, the throttle sometimes wants to "stuck"  where it has been. I've cleaned and lubed the throttle actuation assembly (took out the little chain, greased the actuator shaft) on the right handlebar, loosened the cruise control, lubed the joined throttle valve shaft, and slightly lubed the cable.
A quick "blip" letting off the throttle, then re-opening it works fine.
Other than installing a new cable, any ideas on what else to check, or subtlety to re-do?

This is on a 1985 K100 RT, with 64k miles.

Running the 1985 OE cable?

1985 throttle cables have 2 versions and lower brackets
#1 version- have a adjustment sleeve approx. halfway down length not found in later version

2nd newer version black or white plastic collar at the lower end
