Needs fuel pump? why doesn't he put one in?
$2500 no title, $3000 with title? Why?
smells whacky to me

This is just a guess. Maybe the owner was consulting with a psychic about repair stategies and techniques but the carnival left town before they could be implemented.

looks like the fuel pump replacement is a bit more complicated than on the older K's. , but the youtubes say about a 2 hour job, and ebay has aftermarket kits for about $60. I still don't get why seller is selling a "like new" bike as a parts bike? something doesn't add up.

Selling for parts because he doesnít have a title, and it would be a $500 pain in the ass to come up with one

that is a whole lot of really nice parts for $2500.  if it was near here i would be on it.

if they "lost" the title, it is just not that hard to get a duplicate from DMV.

and yes, fuel pump is a relatively easy fix to make it run.

beyond fast.  the K1300 version is 195hp.  185+mph top speed.   frustrating a bit on the street as there is nowhere you can crack the throttle more than 1/4 without getting your license revoked.  on the track though...bucketfuls of YEEHA!  they will get up and go for a 550lb sport touring machine.

I asked if it ran and if there were any other issues . his reply

"No if i take it to bmw in jacks for pump install i will sell at 4800 take it as is 2500 NO TITLE 3000 with TITLE no haggling these are FIRM prices i can part the bike for more then i am asking"

I still don't get what there is for him to gain by keeping the title?

Went for a look. Seems legit, not a scratch and seller even has the new bosh fuel pump. Has a low seat so it feels a bit cramped. Seller removed decals, but still looks fast in black. Turns over, just no fuel pump noise. Comes with the smallish luggage. Guy has 2 other bikes, just wants it gone. Says he is the 2nd owner. Looks to be well taken care of. Has good title. $3000, no haggle.

The Craigslist ad seems to imply it has a salvage title by referring to "parts only". Did the title indicate that?

great deal for someone!  2008 was last year for the K1200S.  noticed the low seat in the pics.  telltale sign is the molded "stripe" on the front side of seat.  one line is low seat.  two lines are normal person seat.
