This is a much discussed topic but after hours of seaching I've found one 140/80-17 rear Radial, a Pirelli for $163.

Ive looked for the avons, the bridgestone, yes my simplistic mind would prefer a pair from the same manufacturer.

I have a set both of snowflakes currently shod with Shinko 230 tourmasters and a set of Y spokers ready for rubber. Ive driven so much this summer the rear is ready to swap out.

My bike tends to porpoise in sweeping turns.  The K1100RS project just aquired has Michelin radials and oh my is that machine "planted " in corners.  I know the benefit of the paralever  but its time to try an off sized radial.  Will a 150/70-ZR 17 fit? found that.  Cheers!

From what I've read around here, it will be a tight fit on a three inch tri-spoke but the performance reviews are favorable.

If your bike is not stable in turns, it is probably a suspension problem, not a tire issue.  Both of my K75S's are rock solid in all turns, including fast track work.  Get some Michelin pilot activ tires, then go through the suspension.   Correct rear spring?  Age of your rear damper?  Better than stock front springs? Correct fork oil?

Radial tires are not going to solve the problem.

As per mlytle my 75s is rock solid on Michelin Pilot Activ. Only  tyre problem I've had with handling was with Michelin Macadams.

This size should fit.  I have 3x17 3-spoke rear rims and 2.5x18 3-spoke front rims on my K75.  I have been running a Bridgestone T30 Battlax 150/70ZR-17 Tire on the rear and a Bridgestone T30 Battlax 110/80ZR-18 Tire on the front for a few years now and they function just fine.  I have fitted K1100 forks and K1100 paralever to my K75; I think the late model K75 suspension components are comparable.

greetings...

the t30 evo stones were good performers on the rs eleven hundert in the 120 70 17 160 60 18 configeration...

they came off after 7000 miles of twisty driftless and droning slabb dry and wet... good performers all around...

i would buy them again if the rs eleven hundert lasts that long... its gotts new shinko podiums in the 120 70 17 170 70 18 configeration with 3 spacers on there now...

got the Shinko tours  on mine , and when I can find a good curve here on the FL panhandle ,I am always amazed  how solid the bike feels. Like others have said, you may have other issues.

In addition to the Bridgestone rebate of $50, Revzilla (and maybe others) have rebates for $40 on Pirelli, Metzeler and Dunlop plus Revzilla gave me $10 in points toward my next purchase.

Got a set of Metzeler Roadtech 01 for the '94 K75S.  I've never used these before,, having been satisfied with my Avons and Pirellis.

I believe this is my 4th satisfying purchase from Chapparal Motorsports and their Chapmoto EBay store.  Rebate gift card will take 6-8 weeks.  Net $ 202 vs about $150 for Shinko Tourmaster 230s.  Working on that rock-solid tracking I remember.  Triple tree service is next.

You can hear that being said in clubs all over Miami. :-)

If you're referring to his K75, yours has a K1100 fork and a paralever rear drive, too? It's an epidemic!

Nope conventional k 75 final drive on 94 S Latest project a K 1100 RS could very reasonably have been cannibalized as a donor but my 5 mile shakedown convinced me to restore the1100.  But yes,I would love to experience what a paralever (originally auto correct changed this to parakeet🥺😡0--will bring to my 75 in a high speed sweeper.. Best to you Laitch.

Radials installed.  Meaty 150 rear required a twist to pass the caliper but then smooth sailing.  Note the clearance on the swing arm, I didn’t measure, maybe 3/8” .  Note that there’s a notch where a previous tire seemingly rubbed away the casting seam.  I could see this tire when hot and under compression load- rubbing against that arm.  Time will tell.  Johnny you run Three spacers you note above- that’s the shim under the wheel yes? I have one from my parts bike maybe I add that if it rubs??

Upon inspection I just wore away the last of the wear “dots” on my center tread.  3500 miles doesn’t seem like much longevity but admittedly I’ve been riding very aggressively this season.

So, this is a plus 2 rear -and a plus one front.  Z rated Radials.  Pretty cool. I have cracked 100 mph this summer but can’t imagine pushing further.

O
Installed, the new meats look pretty tame.  I’ll take a pic or two in daylight.  Cheers.

In short I’m thrilled with these tires and their impact on my brick.  First ride a dawn patrol in the chee to work about 12 miles was hands off no wobbles at all speeds and rock solid in the suspect 45 to 55 mph range.  👅👏.  Waaay beyond expectations.  Bought the bike in 2017 with Pilot active in-need of replacement.  Swapped in Shinko Tourmaster 230s pro mounted and balanced.  Seriously distracting wobblage at 45 and 55.  I’ve read that tires can vary and quality control not a perfect science but when   I detected no slip in the headstock bearings I was despairing what I would troubleshoot next.   Even in a sweeper I drive daily riddled with cracks these didn’t hunt or porpoises like I’d been experiencing.

Radials are worth a try even if the speedo is off- even if the rear rubs at some point.

Very pleased!

One further note:  PO used DYNA BEADS which came out with this tire change. I can't verify, but I suspect they were the cause of my wobbles.  Stick with sticky wheel weights is my learning FWIW.

Aller au detour (to work and back with detours to entertain Laitch, ). No marks on sidewalks (there’s another auto correct that’s entertaining Laitch), they are side walls!

RBM really appreciate your tire recommendation!  Big grin so far.  Cheers!
