From the parts site RealOEM, the old # is 62111459542,  superseded by 62112305252.

A search on the BMW parts fiche does not turn up either of the part numbers that you listed. I have a 62 11 1 459 919. The parts fiche shows that it fits the 2 bikes that you list in your profile. Also the '86 K75T. Email me.

BMW makes understanding this situation a challenge The number on that box is for the housing only sans guts—parts #4 and #6 together, maybe.

The full monty is the second of the numbers that Tommy T supplied. If your box contains a complete cluster then it was likely put in that box for convenience.

Thanks Laitch. The box does contain a complete cluster assembly. So, I have several complete assemblies. I do not see a part number on any of them. I do know that one is a K1 because it has yellow face plates. ( See pic ). Is the only way to determine what model that they originated on  by the plug style? Thanks, Mike

I don't know, Mike. Some of them have stickers on the rear plate with BMW numbers printed on them but I haven't found those numbers in the fiche yet. Inge would have been able to answer your question.

When considering replacing an instrument cluster, I would want the pin plug/socket assemblies mating round-to-round or angular-to-angular although angular-to-round has been claimed to function acceptably by some who have posted here. I'd also want the interior free of corrosion because I've seen some grisly-looking interiors in troubleshooting photos where the outside of the case was pleasing to the eye.

That is a pretty yellow cluster.

I'm still confused though.

@ TommyT   Does all this mean you need the round or the flat angular pin type?

A fellow from over at the BMWMOA was re-furbishing the complete head units for me at a decent price. Unfortunately, he has passed. I am unaware of anyone else that is doing them.

Overseas Speedometer is still in operation and has good references here.

Round pins. What year bike has a flat angular pin type? I am going to look at one this weekend, but I guess I show ask the owner what type of pins are in it and maybe save me a trip.
