Mischler BMW Beaver Dam WI visit
« on: July 26, 2019, 12:46:30 AM »
This week I vacationed at EAA Air Venture OshKosh WI.  En Route home today I stopped at my regions only BMW Moto dealer.  Nothing remarkable in the show room but this lovely in the service area caught my eye.  What an unusual fairing- I know nothing about it.  Motorized bar stools spotted at the air show.  That’s me with an actual Apollo 11 space suit.  Probably over kill on the Moto??

Mischler's were very nice to deal with when I needed OEM parts for my K11LT a couple years ago.  IIRC, I drove up and they did not have all the parts in stock so they had them drop shipped for a reasonable fee to save me the additional trip.

Considering they are BMW and HD, they seemed really nice, friendly, polite and respectful - even when they found out I was after parts for  20+ year old bike.

. . .this lovely in the service area caught my eye.  What an unusual fairing-
It would seem to be a Wixom fairing. You might find the lowers in the attached photo. The upper section is hanging on the back wall of the shop.

This link describes the foibles of the R69 engine which was likely the powerplant of the Wixom's original wearer.
