I recently adopted my uncle's 1998 Moto Guzzi California v11 ev. It had been sitting for a few years, but I got it back up and running. It's quite a bike. Definitely handles way better than you would expect a cruiser to.

Congrats! Have always loved Guzzi's. They're like Bricks, in that you have to pay attention to them, and only then, they will never fail you. Rode X-country with a guy on an 850, and it had so much style and character ... I was on an SR500.

Really enjoyed the '96 ( I think) SP II I had for about six years, ample power, great ergonomics for me, relaxed engine at sane speeds, very little engine heat,  hated the grade school linked brakes, as I hardly ever use the foot brake it had no braking power using the hand brake with one single piston Brembo up front, was forced to use hand and foot together, sold it, and got my first K after six R's.  :beer:

I thought I was going to hate the linked brakes, but I've actually really liked them so far. The ev11 has a proportioning valve that adjusts based on the rear suspension angle, so adjusts for load as well as forward shift during braking.


The one thing I'm not as sure on is the floorboards. I like having the rear brake covered while riding, but I can only do that with a deviation from the normal riding position by either putting my foot on the small rubber knob on the brake pedal for this purpose, or dorsiflexing my foot to an uncomfortable degree.
