No bean cans on ABS II. Changeover occurred 8/'93 according to Max BMW's parts fiche.

That would be a down grade.  Abs 2 is newer/better.

A "top end rebuild" and "complete new drive train" on a K with 42 some thousand miles? Why?

I had 2 burned valves on my 97 1100 at 25K miles...... with regular dealer service, so it can happen.... needless to say I don't visit that dealer anymore.

Curious what their definition of "complete drive train" means.... could be as simple as a new drive shaft. Could be as involved as they blew out a u-joint and damaged the FD and housing.
