s1000rr Fork to K75s
« on: March 06, 2019, 03:23:19 PM »
I'm just about in the homestretch of my cafe build and was wondering... before I make the purchase.

Will the s1000rr Forks mate up with a 91 k75s. I've seen some k100s that run the s1000rr fork setup and it' gorgeous. Just wondering about the k75s frame tube accepting the same diameter as the k100. Haven't found much on people swapping k100 forks for k75s'

Will be posting pics soon.

Thanks!

If you're referring to Ditson's custom K100, he writes that he used the entire front end from an RR and a custom triple tree. Post some links to the other K motos you've seen with the RR setup. I think you'll be spending plenty of money if you head in that direction.

Please update your December 13 post concerning starting problems and let us know the outcome and solution, if any was found. Doing that might be a help to others.

There's a guy that I've been following that uses the s1000rr forks here:

https://www.instagram.com/kustom_moto/
https://www.instagram.com/ditstang/

After some more research it looks like Ditstang is using a fork bearing conversion kit from a company call allballsracing.com

Now I need to find out if the frames (k75 and k100) have the same diameters before I go down this route.

... I'll reply to the other thread now... it was user error :)

That is the guy to which I referred in my previous post. There was more involved than just bearings. Go to this link. Read the paragraph after the one starting with Words from Trevor Ditson:. In your eagerness to complete this build you are missing significant details.

You should educate yourself on the differences between the K75/K1002V fork assemblies and the K1004V fork assemblies. The 2V assemblies were provided by three different makers and have two different diameters. The 4V assemblies were provided by a fourth maker with yet a different diameter. When you write K100 you should clarify to yourself whether the 2V model or the 4V model is meant. The attached chart has been available elsewhere on the web and posted at the world famous MOTOBRICK.COM previously. Here it is again.
