Looks really nice, but you do realize that a black finish dissipates a lot more heat than that shiny aluminum finish.

I do indeed but I haven't got it in my clutches yet, I'm toying with how I want the finished look to be with respect to painting it black or not. I cant do anything until it's up and running as a proven unit with a good several hundred miles under it's belt just in case it needs more welding etc etc

Rugged looking radiator. Have you considered anodizing it? Being new, it'd be the time to get it done, if there was a shop nearby that could do the work ... economically.

You simply cannot anodise a radiator, I've lost several items over the decades to anodising. It undergoes quite a harsh process with acid dips and solutions galore, parts of the rad are way too thin being mainly the core. I think I'll probably paint the core black and leave the side tanks as is.

Best thing, I temporarily fitted it today and it went in a treat so hats off to Aaron Rads….!!!

Cool, learn something new every day.
Just asking, as we anodized climbing gear (SLCDs, Cinch, Nuts) although the smallest dimension was around 3mm thickness. Met CE specs, and no recall's, and agree the process is chemical intense.

3mm plate is the lowest I’ve gone and I’ve lost stuff at that gauge, cast aluminium also is a retard to anodise I’ve found but as you mentioned climbing gear which we use at work is generally cast items..??!!🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️ So who knows 🧐

Looking forward to getting fluids through it and a take on it’s performance next..

If you've used a Cinch belay device or direct opposing cam-lobe devices, a couple of us invented those in the garage, the patents ended up being used in aerospace. Weird how ideas are so fluid.
It'll be great to see the radiator installed.
