Bike EXIF whack, K75-style
« on: February 16, 2019, 08:46:57 PM »
I think Bike EXIF has jumped the shark:

http://www.bikeexif.com/bmw-k-series-custom

First, what in the ever loving hell does this even mean:

Everything else was kicked into touch and replaced with new or fabricated components, including the electronics—which were swapped out for Motogadget components.

Then notice how the builder went to the trouble to adapt Showa forks from a Ducati, but neglected to do the relatively easy and proven upgrade of putting a Paralever setup on the back.

Blech.

Clearly, this article's copy was not translated into English by a native English-speaker. We would say its components experienced extreme touchification. Alternatively, perhaps turned into douche was meant instead of kicked into touch, in which case doucheification would be the appropriate word.

Isn't that a soccer term meaning the ball is 'in play'?

You'd know better than I, Ed. I view preoccupation with soccer in the US as a deleterious effect of climate change.  :giggles

I guess the real question is: why do you read that crap?

I suppose it's handy to know how to install a Ducati front end on a Brick in case the stock front end falls apart somewhere in the middle of nowhere and the ony parts available are off a Ducati or a Suzuki.

I wish I could've seen the pictures before it ran into an orange tree and bent up the front of the tank. I'm sure it was most interesting, and inspirational.

“It looks like we’ve learned how to make bricks look great, so we decided to do it again”, says Adrián.

I think my stock K75s in dakar yellow looks better than  Bolt motor's take , and while interesting is no improvement. MBGA should be reserved for careful restoration to stock.

greetings...

the only thing the oe motobrick needs is taintilator treatment...

everything else is unnecessary artistic freedom... which we embrace here at the naabp...  the national association for the advancement of brick people...

Love to see the look on Andrés Palop's face when he opens up the final drive to inspect the rear splines after a few more of those burnouts, wondering why the bike won't go and it's making a funny grinding noise.
