Tires for K75 Scrambler

Hello from Croatia. Just purchased a mint K75rt few months ago and I'm turning it to a scrambler.
I’ve seen the treads about knobby tires and seen that some put 17’ tire on the back. Aren’t both snowfkake rims 18?
Any advice on models and sizes for tires are welcome. Thank you all.

The RT had a 17" Y-spoke rear wheel; the C had an 18" Y-spoke rear wheel. Get acquainted with a parts fiche like this one where you can learn differences between models. Please put your moto's year next to its model in your profile so it will show up in every post. Post some photos of these wheels.

I just bought a pair of Shinko e805 tires for my 1984 K100 in the following sizes. 
Rear type tire, front mounted, 120/90-18, tubed, Rear is 140/80-17

Have you mounted them on the rims and ridden the moto with them yet?

They are not mounted as yet, I am in the middle of a scrambler build, I will get the rims powder coated soon. Laitch, you suggested the tire sizes originally, I was pleased I could get both sizes in the same brand of tire.

I don't see in any of your posts that I suggested a specific size of tire to you, Grant.

Thanks for the photo. I see that the rims aren't typical of the style on that moto over here. Here they are usually three-spoke rims. You need to measure the width of the rims to determine what size tire can be used on them.

I rarely see the k75 with 3 spoke rims. As far as I know those rims on mine are pretty standard. 3 spoke I've seen mostly on K 1100. Here is the photo of mine with fairings removed.

Many of us know those as Y-spoke rims. Snowflake rims are something else. One style is pictured below, although I don't believe that is snow on them.  :giggles Three-spoke rims were standard on late model K75 models. Yours are 2.75" wide. The three-spoke are 3" or more in width.

Ok, thanks. It seems that we have language issue because here we call mine similar to snowflake.
BTW in the end it turns that mine rear rim is indeed 17. I’we been watching at the  COC document issued to me by BMW dealer that the both rims are 18.

Make sure the side stand stop bracket (welded to the OEM muffler) will allow a 140 width rear tire.  I doubt there would be enough clearance on my 1987 K75C).
