Finally picked up my brick!
« on: January 23, 2019, 06:49:17 PM »
Well, after 2 weeks of waiting and mystery, I drove 14 hours in 2 days and picked up my 1990 K75 RT. It is in far better condition than I planned on! It's been sitting almost 2 years and before that many other years, covered and stored indoors. As I removed coats of storage dirt and applied a little wax, I realized this bike really is a diamond in the rough, exactly my style! My mechanic friend (who's helping me build a 750F Cafe Racer) was a BMW tech for 5 years and this morning, when he examined the K750, said, "you stole this bike, it's in awesome condition". SO, oil change, spline grease, all fluids replaced, dye the ugly yellow seat piping black and I got me a shiny touring bike for Spring!
