K1200 engine on k1100
« on: June 10, 2019, 11:41:43 PM »
Been doing my research on such topic. Of course I know there will be problems to over come regarding intake and the EFI (planning on using microsquirt). It’s looking like K1100’s engines in the US are getting increasingly rarer to find with low mileage (best I’ve found is 29k, I still consider this relatively good mileage for this engine). I would like to know if anyone has had experience/knowledge of installing a K1200 engine block on a K1100. I plan/would like  to use the k1100 bell housing, clutch pack, and transmission. From what I’ve read (not a wealth of knowledge on the topic), the k1200 engine has the proper mounts for the k1100 frame. I’d like to know if the k1100 bell housing will mate with the k1200 block, etc. any issues I’d need to know about the starter motor and alternator with this configuration?

Thanks in advanced.
