Low Mileage Titanblau 1990 K75S NOT For Sale in Naples Florida
« on: November 26, 2018, 08:25:14 AM »
I'm posting this for my friend David who is selling a very nice, low mileage 1990 K75S.

He sold this bike new when he had a BMW dealership in CT and then bought it back for himself at a later date.  The instrument pod was replaced at approximately 10K and it now reads just over 7K.  It has PIAA lights, a year-old Odyssey battery and a Corbin saddle otherwise all stock.  Runs great and has always been stored indoors using a battery tender.  The rear master cylinder needs replacement and is included, just not installed.

He's asking $2150 and has a clear FL title.  If you're interested send me a message and I'll pass along his contact information.

Florida is a long state, over 800 miles from one end to the other. can you narrow the location down?

Warning!

Bike has a Corbin seat.  Anyone thinking of a fly and ride should plan on getting an Airhawk seat cushion for the ride home.  That seat will set fire to your ass about half a tank into the second day of your trip home.  Don't ask me how I know.

True about Corbin.

I flew and rode a bike from North Carolina to Wisconsin with a Corbin.

 That's when I developed

SCIATICA.

It was a real negative until I put the stock seat back on and got my spine back in alignment

Why all the Corbin bashing, butts are as different as [     ]. I like mine, both butt and seat. , I'm on 75 #3, and the 1st one came with it, and much better than the stock, for me. Caveat, I haven't taken any long trips, but I'd like to, and when I do, I may feel differently.

The Corbin that came on my K75S was a thing of beauty, but it felt like it was padded with cement.  It was fine for commuting up to 50-60 miles and errands around town, or an afternoon exploring the twisties.

For munching miles, it was tolerable the first day, but it was a short day, less than 400.  The second day it was merciless punishment and for the rest of the trip it sucked every bit of pleasure out of riding.  My first(and only) trip with that seat was to bring the bike from Dallas to Western New York, 2000 miles in 4 days.  I had hoped to do it in three days which was a piece of cake for my BMW comfort seat, but after the first day I had to stop and take a break at every gas stop, and even at that could barely make 600 miles a day.  The last day I didn't even want to ride, but needed to get home.

I bought an AirHawk seat pad, and used it whenever I took the bike out for a ride longer than an hour.  That pad was amazing in how it made the seat usable, but it felt kind of squirmy under my ass.

which one did you buy? do you still have it and want to sell it? I'd like to try one but they are pricey, but then what price to put on comfort?

. . . but then what price to put on comfort?
Russell Cycle Products puts ~630USD on it, if the customer provides the seat. :giggles

I like my Corbin, cross country many times and 200K on it.  Mentioning Corbin, K&N air filters, or any type of oil (I use all 3!) always seems to elicit the naysayers

There are at least two versions of the Corbin seat for bricks.  One appears to be a long distance cruising comfort type seat, and the other is a "sport" seat that seems to be intended to enhance the look of the bike and give a kinda cafe bike ergonomic.  My K75S came with the sport version, and the one listed above appears to have the sport version as well.  I don't advise long distance riding with them.

As far as the AirHawk, I need mine as I still have the Corbin seat.  They do come up on eBay from time to time for a good price.  That's where I got mine.

I have a Sargent and an OEM on my K75S's and a Corbin on my '91 R100RT, all work for me.  The Corbin on the RT was just fine through an IronButt Bunburner and the Sargent was good for two summer 4500 mile tours.

To each his own.

This is a nice low-mileage K75S and needs a good home.

Damn right!  That pesky rear loop lowers the value a whole bunch.  Gotta get the angle grinder on it.
