You can say that again! It's 32ļF here and overcast.

Thanks for the photos. How many miles do you estimate this moto has been ridden? What mechanical inspection have you performed already? Have you ridden it much or is weather over there getting in the way?

Welcome. Maybe not ready for IOM, but if it runs and passes the dreaded inquisition of MOT, you'll be burpin' and chirpin' in no time. Cheers

Hey Lumpy, nice handle! For that kind of money you can't go too far wrong. My clock is about to turn 70,000 miles and she runs like a top. We've got a long way to go before trouble, God willing! Everyday on a motorbike is a little better than the alternative.

Enjoy - from cooling Ontario

Welcome!  I see the previous owner solved the perennial problem of beautiful women constantly demanding rides, one of the K bikes few faults.

Welcome Lumpy, from Derby UK. Looks like you got yourself a bargain there. Kís are built like panzers and easy to work on. The electronics can be difficult but it looks like the PO has fitted an aftermarket speedo and indicators so most of the work has been done.

This is great site full of useful information. Some of the ex pat descendants across the pond can be bitchy ( Especially the purists) but by and large theyíre not a bad bunch of Yankee rebels. Plus they are all old and canít shoot straight anymore  😂.

Enjoy your build. I did.

I have LED all round. I used resistors as I didnít see the flasher mod until after. Also If you have a bep 3.0 unit on yours there is a switch that will allow you to fit less without modifying the flasher unit

Hi . im not sure what the bep 3.0 unit is or where it would be . I was on the understanding that the flasher unit thing was the only way if you wanted leds . ive got 4 brand new resitors from a previous cafe racer build .  could i use them ??.?

A lot of  electronics on the K series is inside the old speedo therefore when you try to fit a new speedo you lose things such as neutral light and the alternator stops charging the battery. Unless you are electronically minded it becomes v v difficult. A Swiss bloke started a small company called Maru labs which developed a plug and play module that takes the sweat out of it.

Iím answer to your question. Yes, you can use the resistors for the flashers. There are also flashers on the market that have the resistance built in.!

No . I didnít say your alternator wonít be charging but the previous owners would have had to build or buy wizardry to make sure it is
