BEP 3.0 Fuel Level Warning Light
« on: June 21, 2020, 11:16:43 AM »
I need some help figuring how to get an LED fuel warning light to work with the BEP. My bike is an '84 so has no tank float.

The BEP outputs a signal when the fuel level drops below 4 litres, my problem is how to use that signal to light up the warning light on my custom dash, (the signal switches from 100 to 10 ohm below 4 litres).

Did you flip this switch on the underside of the BEP to see what would happen?

Yes it is on the correct setting. The BEP only provides a signal, no power or ground to light up the warning light, I require an electronic solution to make the warning light turn on or off when the signal is triggered by the BEP.

My aftermarket gauges don't have a built in fuel level function.

Yes, something that will make the warning light turn on when the signal is sent from the BEP. This how the original dash worked? There is probably a circuit in the original dash that does this, as a light would come on to indicate low fuel.

I don't want to scavenge the original dash as it has some resale value or can be useful to someone keeping their bike in original condition, (only 32,000 km on the odometer).

A spiyda.com device looks like the thing for you then, and you can leave the BEP out of the equation if that's what you want.  112350
