Welcome from the Old Dominion.

I encourage you to post some pictures of your new ride and search through the forums.  There is a lot of info regarding pieces, parts, riding and wrenching.

This is the before and the current work in action:

The first one is when i bought the bike.
The second one was taken about 5 days ago (7-28-2018 approx.)

Work done so far:

Rear indicators changed out (originals non functioning) cleaned up, new petrol gauge unit, new fuel pump, fixed leaky gas tank.

Needs: New front indicators, blinker relay, fairing over light, bags, tires and shiftier lever and gauge cluster.

The bike was kept outside in the AZ sun before being ridden to NM.
The front electrical was partially butchered and the headlight seems to be off an old Honda or such.
The front indicators were also off an old Honda and didn't work. They had spliced the fuel pump and killed the sending unit by attaching the positive lead of the sending unit to the fuel pump.
They also grounded the indicators on the front which I think caused a short in the relay.

There is alot of cosmetic work that needs to be done and I am seriously thinking a 80 road 20 off duel sport tires because I live int he foothills of mountains on a dirt road.

She runs fine (though not super fast) and balances well.

I am thinking of doing a modified install of aftermarket bags, because I really do not like the BMW clamshell type suit case bags.
(More on that later).

Looks like you're missing the intake manifold (the plastic pipe from the airbox).

Welcome. Hey, it's a brick, as long as you can purr along and get sopapillas or a chilie burger, it's all good. Good luck on the build. *from Albuq.

Yep, my wife makes soppapilla's that puts Frontier to shame. It's a real treat for the guys when roadtripping.
If you're riding on the east side of Sandia Peak, there's a great shack for a burger (Burger Boy) near Cedar Crest heading towards Madrid. Tasty, not touristy.
