North Alabama river side ride
« on: June 21, 2018, 01:52:18 PM »
Less than 10 minutes from my house, there is an awesome road with the requisite signs (curves ahead!), next to the Elk River, in North Alabama.
As I stepped across the bridge to take the picture, a kind soul stopped and asked if I needed some help.
I put 50k miles on my previous, Honda 600cc cruiser. In the last few weeks I've put 1500 on my k100.
Looking forward to the next 200k on it (if the Lord allows)! :-)

Roads that follow water are almost always the best.  Nice photo of a nice brick.

There is no place prettier than North Alabama.  I lived in Huntsville for 7 years and wish I'd never left.  The people, the clean air, the Tennessee River, great hunting and fishing, the decent average income, and a booming tech scene all make it a great place to call home.   :2thumbup:

Another bridge across the Elk River, from a boat ramp. I'll have to go back and check the cheeseburgers at the adjacent gas station. Many locals eating there is a good sign!

I lived across the road from the Elk, first in Dellrose, Lincoln county , TN, then in, Pulaski [Giles County]. Yes, those are some nice roads, just watch out for the cows.

Maybe we can meet 1/2 way someday - I am currently planning a ride from Auburn to the Pie Lab in Greensboro, AL - want to meet me?

Would be a fun ride.  I plan on heading through Selma, seeing some history, and then heading up to Greensboro.

Nice bike you have there, love the seat!!
