Yes, another blinker issue
« on: June 07, 2018, 04:23:27 PM »
I'm new here, and have read a lot of blinker issues but nothing like mine.

I have an 86 k100rs. Blinkers were working fine. Had a new battery installed, rode 70 miles, parked, restarted and now they're not.

If you hold either button down all blinkers flash, as if the emergency flasher button were depressed. If you hold the blinker "cancel" button the  emergency flashers activate again. The actual emergency flashers and button work.
My horn went out at the same time.

All the other electrics work.

Flasher relay unit?

Sounds like a LSR which have lost the ground for its coil.
This is a relay that cuts unnecessery user when you run the starter.
The coil to this relay is grounded through the starter brushes/commutator, which seems to need a clean.
Search the forum for LSR and you gonna find a lot of stuff.
