k100rs conversion to k100c or naked.
« on: June 07, 2018, 02:23:07 PM »
Hi Folks,
Anyone know if a headlight/frt cowling bracket is needed to put a round headlight on a '87 RS? I have stripped the bike of all its RS body parts and was considering rebuilding it as a C or naked bike, but have no clue if brackets are available or do they need to be custom made?

I did some searching but had no luck.

Thank you in advance

Some round headlights need a "bucket" or cowl; some are made with them.

BMW made two styles of round headlight mounts and they also hold the instrument cluster. You'll need the cowl and lens assembly. Also, there are clamps that can be attached to the fork tubes to mount a number of round headlight styles. Those are available on the Web from dealers selling motorcycle and cafe racer parts like Dime City and Cafe4racer. You might get ideas from these posts, too.
