Impeller bolt

Hi. I am pretty sure that my waterpump impeller is loose.... sounds Like it:-/
I have the new type impeller and Shaft, but when I assembled it I didn’t use a torquewrench and loctite - so on it again.
 Question is - Can I just take front cover OFF and change bolt and thighten everything or do I risk damaging pumpgear ? Or do I need to take pump OFF entirely?
Anyone remember bolt size? Seems there is a special bolt for the impeller?

Just to clarify... there is a weird whirring Sound when above 2.000 rpm ... when Returned to idle it stops?
 And when knowing the bolt was not set in loctite and correct torque I better check anyhow

@Laitch could you post the answer again? I Can see it in the headlines in Tapatalk but can’t opdn it? And on the forum it doesn’t show.

Took the cover OFF - but could not move the impeller by hand, although the bolt came off quite easy. Maybe the impeller was slipping when above 2.000 rpm.
 Do I risk Breaking the pump gears if I put the bike in gear and hold the brake while thightening the impeller bolt? Then I dont need to drain the new engine Oil [emoji56]

Remove the pump then tighten the fastener using the correct technique and torque value. Maybe the o-rings will be ok. The tightening torque differs between bolted assemblies and those fastened with a nut. According to Clymer: nut–19 Nm to 23 Nm, bolt–29Nm to 37 Nm.

This situation highlights the need to work mindfully and follow procedure.

Thanks - you are right. Bike been sitting for 5 years + .... so a third oilchange in the first 500 km won’t harm[emoji41].
