Original List Price
« on: May 04, 2018, 04:50:39 PM »
For no good reason other than curiosity, does anyone know of a reference showing the list price of various K models over the years?

I know what mine cost, I think the saddlebags & racks added $280.  It didn't get the iconic tailbag until several years later

I picked up a BMW brochure from a swap meet last year.  It must be from 1987 because the person had written the following list prices on the cover:
K100RS 87 $10990  86 $9650
K100RT 87 $11590  86 $10190

These are Canadian dollars.

That is more than I knew.  Thanks!

I've poked around and found introductory year prices of various models, but don't know how close that comes to mine's year (1992).   The last time I was shopping for a NEW motorcycle was 1988-89 but don't remember much about BMW prices except they were out of my league.

back in 86 I could have either bought a really cheap car or a nice motorcycle for the same price.  Good thing I opted for the bike, I doubt a Mercury Topaz would still be around.
