Hi I’m new to Motobrick. When I signed up, I inadvertently put my email address where I should have put my username. I wish to change my username. How can I do this?!!

That’s great!! (And I guess if I was drunk, it wouldn’t matter what my username was), but I’m not, so it does. [emoji13]

Can someone who knows how please assist me in changing my username? I understand you folks are just picking on me and having a bit of fun, and I do appreciate the actual useful information that has been given. However, I did make an honest mistake when I signed up the first time and I would love to change my username from “but I’m not so it does” to   Ironwrx.
Is there anyone in this forum willing to help me achieve that?

Try clicking on the Donate tab and sending some money to the site. That might have an affect. I think your current username is a compelling kōan.  :2thumbup:

I’m glad you think it is compelling, however that username is not one I selected, but rather taken from one of my replies. It is not the identity I wish to have. I would be much more inclined to donate if I had money(1) and if my posts were not just used as fodder for amusement. I do have a good sense of humor, but feel kind of ridiculed by the disregard of my question, because of an honest mistake.

The easiest thing to do is simply create a new account with a different username and a different email.

I just did a member search on the name "Irontwrx".

Well played.

This has been so entertaining, I'm clicking the brick again even though I did not long ago.   This alone has been worth it.

Well, I tried to do what you suggested, but the forum won’t let me register “Irontwrx” as a user name. I do not have (nor do I want) an additional email address. Is there simply an administrator who could help
Me sort this out? Thanks.

It is not the identity I wish to have.
Members' identities are ultimately determined by the content of their posts. What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. What is MB.C compared with the vastness of Creation? Nada. Zip. Zero.

I'm struggling with that myself. I thought my post quality would improve this month with snowmelt and warming weather, that I could extricate myself from the mire of my discontent and its disruptive concentricity but it's getting ready here to snow again, there's still a pile of it outside my bedroom window and that window has a southern exposure. :1a:

I now must turn from this thorny path to focus on my rumbling front wheel bearings and accept anicca.

Adiós, butimnotsoitdoes.

Thank you all for your words of wisdom.
Obviously this thread has blown up and dragged on far too long and distracted us from what we’re really here for.
My main concern is that my original username was my email address. That is not the case anymore and I guess I should be happy about that.
I am an artist/blacksmith welder/fabricator sculptor, and now the proud owner of my first BMW! My username in many sites is “Irontwrx” and that is my identity.
Call me what you wish.

I had to look it up.  Interesting word I will certainly use.   Took less time to find than to type this, which makes it a kōan itself.
