Found It!
« on: April 26, 2018, 07:06:50 PM »
I've been lamenting to my wife about the miles and years on my '93 K75S and my concern about finding another one.  This bike fits me perfectly and I've found it extremely comfortable, reliable and relatively easy to work on with lots of great resources, this site being the best.

So regularly I have been checking the usual sources for a K75S in decent shape with low miles and/or great maintenance records and this one pops up just over the VA border.

Yes, it is now in my garage, has less than 6000 miles and the only negative is the belly pan is cracked (it matches my '93).  The story on this bike is interesting and incomplete but suffice to say it was traded/sold to a power sports dealer and was stored for 10-15 years in a climate controlled environment.  The third owner I purchased it from bought it from there, rode it a bit and took it to Bob's BMW for a 5K service with tires and battery.  There are some paint scratches probably from storage and the belly pan damage but everything is like new and shows no wear.

The side cases he found have white covers and I've got a set of new ones but want to find a tool kit, shock spanner and owner's manual.  If anyone has these items, I'm in the market and have some cases as trade material.

wondered who got that.  i tried to buy it three years ago but the seller never answered my daily replies to his clist add for a month, then the ad disappeared.  saw it pop back up on clist last week(with the same pictures as three years ago), but already have too many k75's so did not bother to chase it.

the ad is still active on clist.

i still have the ad from 2015.  it was listed at $2500 then.  ad text was,
"1994 BMW K75s with 4,9xx miles. New battery and all other fluids serviced. Includes; the next full service (BMW) for all fluids, owners' manual, and maintenance manual. This is a great deal for either beginner or BMW enthusiast.
The only thing wrong that I can tell is the lower fairing on the right side is cracked. You can see this from the photos. This came from either a curb drop or something hit/ran over (i.e. road debris) No other scratches or indications it's been down. "

He mentioned about trying to sell it a few years ago.  Seemed to be more of a "flipper" than a rider although he did use Bob's to work on it and threw in BMW filters and fluids along with a Clymer's.

Kudos for staying with the S  I'd be torn if it ever came to replacing mine between another one or something new and different such as an FJ-09.  Somehow I suspect if I went that route I'd miss the old K's simplicity, versatility & character, like the random occasional cloud of smoke on start up or Laitch's wise and benevolent advice on this forum.  Good luck with your new-to-you banana K :riding:
