Wanted: good long screw
« on: April 23, 2018, 03:46:11 PM »
the one that holds the front and back sides of the front fender together on non-FY K100 or any old K75 S, T, C, RT, whatever. # 10 in the attached. I'm tired of riding around without the back of the front fender attached.  Or if anyone knows the size of the stupid bolt.  I have mucho monies in pay pal and can reimburse a donor far more than the 10 cents the bolt is worth!

All that I could find on the online parts catalogs is the size of the nut which is a square 6mm nut.  The bolt seems to be NLA.  Can't you just measure how long it needs to be with a ruler?

The cheapest thing on a BMW is the nut that connects the seat to the handlebars.

If you can give me a length I might have one.  I bought all the bolts for an R1150RT that a salvage dealer sold after tearing the bike down.

I bought a 6mm Allen bolt 80mm long 30mm of thread from a bolt supply place. You could also use a Phillips head.

If the hardware store doesn't have the 6mm screw you could always get a square nut and a 12-24 machine screw in stainless with a Phillips head.  That will be pretty close to the 6mm that was there originally.

Check with Max BMW.  They have fisch type diagrams for about everything.  Bought 4 10 cent screws for my dashpad, when I thought I lost one.  It's more in shipping, but it's easy.
