Injector problems?
« on: April 08, 2018, 03:44:16 AM »
Hello brickers!
As i told some time ago I have 86’ K100 which had been sitting in the barn for 10 years. Had a bunch of problems because of sitting.

I ordered 4 new injectors: https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32823879186.html?trace=wwwdetail2mobilesitedetail&productId=32823879186&productSubject=32823879186&shortkey=AvInInuI&addresstype=600
Are they giving too much fuel? The bike does not star up! When i disconect fuel pump and try to start up it fires up for some time!
Hope you can help me wit your opinion and expertise!
Thank you!
PS. The old ones are rusted and 3 of them not even clicking!

We need a little more information and how much trouble shooting you have done with the fuel system.  Have you taken a look in the fuel tank?  Did you fix the possible issues with the rubber vibration dampener and hoses in the fuel tank?

My fuel tank was a milk box for a while... when I bought it i was standing in the barn for more than 10 years without fuel! All original fuel injectors were wasted and i took fuel injectors from friend who has k100 too! After puting them on a bike it started 2 seconds later! Fuel pump make pressure, spark plugs are new. Ordered these injectors, but i thik they give too much fuel to the pistons!

Based on the fact that your friend's OEM K100 injectors work, I would guess that your Chinese injectors are putting too much fuel into the cylinders.

If you have the time, can you put the Chinese injectors in your friend's bike?  If his bike won't start, you have proof that the injectors aren't correct.

I thought that its the anount of fuel that it puts in the engine, because when i disconect the fuel pump it stars to fire up and i can hear explosions. While the system is under pressure no explosions..

When you try to start with the pump disconnected you are cranking the engine with the fuel left over from the last time you tried to start.  As you crank, the engine is pumping the excess fuel out until what is left makes a correct mixture.  The engine fires once per cylinder and then quits because there is no more fuel.

These to me don't appear to be compatible injectors based on the published specs.

Yours:
Coil Resistance: 12 Ohms / High Impedance
Static Flow Rate @ 43.5PSI ( 300kPa ) w/Gas: 47 lb/hr = 500 cc/min

BMW (Bosch 0 280 150 210):
Coil Resistance: 16 Ohms
Static Flow Rate @ 36PSI ( 250kPa ) w/Gas: 13 lbs/hr = 137 cc/min

According to the linked ad, you purchased high impedance injectors with way too high of a flow rate at a pressure that the K100 pump cannot attain.  Discard these and buy compatible injectors.  Then try again.

greetings latvietis...

1) run your vin... make sure you dont have a 85 as it is different than a 86...

2) post up photos of your moto so we can see whats you gotts...

3) you need to getts the right injectors... buying cheep will just cost you more down the road...

please do your doo dillergence... before searching for parts it is absolutely mandatory here at motobrick.com that you run your vin to verify your year and model... so many registrations and titles are simply wrong and that causes whack...

run your vin (last 7 digis only) in the serial number box here...

once you have a good part number you can run that part number to see moto fitment...

choose your product catalog series model market prod month here to getts good part number here...

click here for online etk crossreference... use the search by bmw part number box...

now latvietis... go getts the right stuff...

i used the search button and i have found several motobrockers like these injectors...

When i saw a bike in an advertisment it looked like these first two photos. These were good photos because i could not see those big problems which were hidden.

Now i have gone through major points and cleaned stucked parts. Here are few photos for VIN:

Bike had only 27k km.

Why not pack your old injectors off to tills.de  in Germany. They do an exchange for refurbished injectors. Good service as well.
