Throttle assist / inexpensive "cruise control"
« on: January 04, 2018, 01:20:58 PM »
I had these on my Honda [that I sold]. I tried it on my K75 and it worked somewhat, but hit the mirror stalk unless angled. I remember another K I had came with a device that was on the bar end you tightened/loosened. I'm looking for something to give my throttle hand a rest on a long ride. I may order one of these, but $20 is expensive for what it is, just a piece of plastic. I don't now if I should order the 7/8 or 1" version either. my bike has the original grips and they are fatter at the inboard end. advice?

Sounds like a throttlemeister was on your K1, I've got one on my K75, nice thing is you can tighten it enuf not to lock it but just keep it from snapping back.  Prices start north of $100

Made out of a piece of scrap aluminium angle.http://www.motobrick.com/index.php/topic,7822.msg56073.html#msg56073 A lot safer and easier to use.

Here's another variant which works well after a bit of experimentation to get the tension right.
Made from 2.5 mm spring steel wire (eBay), covered with heat shrink.
