I wouldn't mind seeing other pictures of the bike while you read about schematics...

Slow but positive progress. Wheels on just sorting the clutch actuator arm and centre stand out, they are proving very fiddly to get working after powder coating...!!1

Fantastic heater set-up. Looks like it screams out the BTU's. Have you considered a perforated windscreen (quick mount tabs are already in place)? I only ask due to lot's of experience in windy environments, and how the heat transfer is severely diminished from flame to aluminum surface with a steady wind. A shield has us boiling water from snow at 17k within 7mins with an MSR 600 International...without, it takes forever and wastes fuel. Cheers

Why not use waste heat from the engine cooling system to heat water?  A small thermostat controlled bypass in the coolant circuit and a heat exchanger in the water tank will heat water to any temperature you want.  Free heat.

I think simplicity wins the day here, I considered using a water jacket around the exhaust but then junked the idea after realising the difficulties of heat transfer from the exhaust to water pipes etc, I have a wind shield that comes with the Soto kit but it isn’t refined enough for this application so will make one like you say to fit the mounting tabs and perforated also. I fitted a pipe that ran to the rear of the tank to circulate the water as it heated intermittently and this definitely helped speed things along...

I know that this thread went silent for quite some time but I really like your bike! Especially the frame around the engine and the color pattern! Is the front part of the frame (above front tire) your own idea or have you seen it somewhere? I'm not much into adventure bikes but this seems like great idea for weight distribution and additional cargo space. Are there adventure bikes that were inspiration for your project? And do you have pictures of your brick out in the wild?

500 kg?  That won't be easy to pick up if it takes a nap.

What the fuel capacity and range?

RE: 500kg.... When I stripped the build down to powder coat I weighed all components and I mean everything and it totalled 280kg including some fuel left in tank and engine oil. As far as the bike being dropped and too heavy to lift I've gone too far now and answered that one too many times to care. It's a 'Brick' and not a GS12 and I love it to bits...!!!
Fuel capacity is around 43 litres so I guess at 40mpg that's a range of approximately 370/380 miles which ain't too shabby. Will it do that mileage in real life who knows, time will prove.....
