New K75s owner from Indy
« on: November 01, 2017, 10:13:35 PM »
Hi,

Long time K75 admirer and regular classified spectator finally happened upon a local bike.  It spent most of its life in storage apparently.  25,000mi.  It was partially disassembled by po for paint and maintenance.  Excited to get it all together over the winter, and I expect it's going to be a keeper.  It's joined a garage filled with an 05 Triumph Tiger, 00 Ducati 996s, 73 Guzzi Eldorado, and 89 Volvo 745t.  I had one BMW back in the early 90's, an 83 r80g/s pd, and, yes, I wish I had kept it.  Anyway, it's good to be here and I expect I'll learn a lot.

Congrats, but wow, should have kept that PD.  I remember looking at one in a showroom back in 83 wishing I could afford it.  3 years later I bought a K75s, a high water mark for BMWs. IMHO.

I too was a "new-to-me" owner of a K75S in Indy. Welcome. There's a lot of good stuff here.

Maybe you'll get down to Bloomington and ride around the hills next spring.

Thanks for the welcome, guys.

Jaxon, I'll definitely be riding it around your neighborhood as soon as possible. It feels compact and light to me, perfect for southern Indiana roads.

Welcome!

You are at the right place for practical knowledge in all things classic K.  Chances are it has been addressed in the past but there are always new ways of tackling problems and sources for parts.

Finally figured out where most of the pieces in the box go, and it is a smooth little bike.  Maybe it'll quit snowing by May and I'll get to put some more miles on it.

Looks nice, be sure to take care of all the fluids and tires before hitting the road.

It looks like I got my K75S about a month after you.  We'll have to be careful not to park by each other when I'm in Indy.
