Triumph T100 Test Ride
« on: October 23, 2017, 11:09:52 AM »
Rode a 2017 yesterday about 15 miles - I noticed:

*My hands were tingling from the vibration after about 10 minutes of twisties at moderate rpms.
*The digital display for tach, gear indicator, and speed were so tiny as to be illegible without reading glasses for anyone with less than 20-20 vision. I don't intend to be wearing bifocals to ride just so I can see the instruments -- that is absolutely the stupidest design flaw I think any half-witted engineer could possibly overlook.

Besides that, it was a fun ride the pea-sized digits on the instruments alone were enough of a deal-breaker for me. I'll be sticking with the K75 probably for life.

If I wanted cool, I'd try to find a Royal Enfield Himalayan. The cost savings would pay for surgery to repair nerve damage from riding it.

Save even more money on fuel, and never ever get another speeding ticket. Buy a diesel Enfield.  :hehehe

Trust me, the Thruxton won't break any speed records but its not a bad ride as for vibration I can't say l noticed any. My SV1000 used to make my hands tingle. And push my adams apple down to my scrotum with that whip like raw acceleration  :riding: .

Motohobo,  Have you tried the T120 smooth as a baby's bum and much more power than the T100. And the Thruxton R, wow!

Naa...that was my test ride for the current millennium. I'm over it -- sticking with the tried and true as long as there are gas stations that sell dinosaur juice.

Test rode the T120 at the Baxters open day in IA this year. Came away very impressed with the quality of ride and build.
