K75 Hack in Baltimore -- Nice Rig!

Met with the owner this weekend, I don't think it's what I want -- what I really need to do is fix the K75 rig I have. I told him I thought his price was high considering the age of the rig and the fact that there's some rusty bolts and it's not in 100% creampuff condition. I said I'd ask around and find out what folks think a reasonable sale price would be.

He says someone offered him $1500 for the DMC leading link alone. A 91 K75 isn't worth much more than $2k even with just 21k miles considering that mileage was spent tugging a hack.

Any ideas? If you were in the market what would be a reasonable offer? Not interested in hearing offensive lowball BS, he's not in a hurry to sell. What would a 25 year old Ural rig go for? Keep in mind this is a custom frame with electric lean-out and some pretty nifty handling design implementations.

I recently acquired a K100RS/Motorvation Formula II LTD rig. The previous owner had disassembled some of it to change bars and cables (to RT stuff) and I re-did the 30 year old fuel and vacuum hoses. It has a healthy oil leak (rear main?).

In the deal, I got the original sales paperwork from both the bike (1987) and the car (2006).

$7850 for the K and 8600 for the car, installed. I'm not gonna get $16K for it anytime soon.  :hehehe

I think he's overpriced, but if he's not in a hurry to sell, he's probably not gonna see that. I might offer him 5500 to 6000, and explain you're open to counteroffers, but 6500 is probably my top.

I'd really like to have a leading link for mine, and the ONLY option the original buyer of my car didn't get was the electric lean, I think that'd be nice as well.

A decent running K75 for 2, another 2500 to Jay at DMC for the LL (new), a grand or so to Claude or Stroker for the automotive rear wheel (also new), and some patience finding a good car for 2-2500, what are we at?

7500 bucks. And some labor from you.

looks like a well thought out rig with extras.  Probably cheaper than you could put one together from scratch, but if I went that route I'd start with a K100 or 1100.  I'd have to knock a couple thousand off just because it's missing a cylinder.
