K100 "Cafe Racer Brat"
« on: September 26, 2017, 12:48:36 PM »
I think this one has an identity issue. Is it a Cafe Racer, a Brat, or hybrid cafe racer brat street brawler with a flat ass. If I were to pay that much, I'd want a speedo, blinkers, and brake lights to say the least.  :dunno2:

For me other nouns come to mind such as 'waste of garage space'. And since when is the brick a 'boxer motor'? I'd put the seller in the 'shit, I got hoodwinked...now I gotta cut my losses and lose this useless boondoggle' category.

'Valued at $10K' probably translated to 'I'm the moron who paid that much for this overpowered moped!'

Wow! That's $20k USD. I think someone is trying to be a bit greedy. I doubt they spent nearly that much building it. Good luck finding a sucker.

You got to give it to the first guy though... look at those pics, every nut and bolt is spotless/new.

My project is an 85K100RS with 18k original miles.  It won't be as nut-and-bolt clean as the original poster but it will have working everything.  If I sold it, I'd ask $6,000 USD (with some negotiating room)

I agree boost but it's still very optimistic pricing to say the least. At the end of the day they're 30 year old bikes and tying bows on doesn't make them valuable. In fact only good untouched ones will have any future value. And not LT's [emoji44]

This is listed on Phoenix Craigslist as well.
If he would have left it alone it still would not be worth the asking price.

BTW the UK one is looks a lot like a Photoshop composite. Compare the shadows under the cars and the lack of shadows under the bike wheels. Makes you wonder how much if any of these custom super-clean ultra-awesome 'builds' are real and how much is Memorex. Kinda like Penthouse Pets. Real rides don't look like that in real life -- at least not with the lights on.

Those of you who get the 'Memorex' reference -- sorry to inform you but you're old.
