K100RT Scrambler(or something) project
« on: August 20, 2017, 11:57:12 AM »
Greetings from Finland! Started my project yesterday. Welding will be next work.

Where do you replace horns or just cut wires off? There is a space for one horn on the right side over the engine(behind the radiator).

I'm gonna cut original exhaust shorter and use it.

Has anyone made a seat platform from fiberglass?

Hi I have made mine using the tailpiece from an RT and strong plastic cut to shape some use steel and I've even seen wood used.  Not quite finished yet but I think it doesn't look too bad

Proggress or not but frame welded. Ignition key replaced to airbox. Next steps:

- fork gaiters
- speedometer
- seat frame laminating
- new handlebars
- Heidenau K60 tyres
- tank paint strip
- leather bags for triangles
- new rear brake fluid container
- front fender cut
- horns relocation

Still wondering about those horns how to relocate????

Still asking photos of horn relocations?

Greetings from a Swede in Norway.

I bought a small and cheap (3 usd) horn on eBay and placed it behind the radiator. Works great. Can't say I've used it much though...

Will try to take a picture when I get home.

This is looking lovely, Postman. I especially love the tan colour of your seat. Do you have any more pictures of the finished rear hoop? I’m on two minds at the moment on wether to use the original frame tube that reduces or to replace with 30mm all round on my own build, wasn’t sure how it would look.

Thanks! My plan is to make short rear fender with LED rear light and licence plate. I have small 15mm LED indicators for rear. Not sure how to put those but will see what happens.

I used original rear end of the frame which is shortened about 20cm. More photos later..

Very nice!  Did you make the bag and seat yourself?
